Overview
The fungus has long been considered an intractable disease due to its special structure. It is very difficult to act on a cell so reliably protected. Imidazole, as well as econazole sodium, slows down and prevents the synthesis of sterol-14-demethylase and isofremed cytochrome P450. In this case, ergosterol production is disrupted, and the latter is just responsible for the permeability of the fungal membrane.
In this case, the accumulation of 14-a-methylsterols occurs, which leads to a violation of the functionality of membrane proteins. In such a long way, accumulation of too high doses of hydrogen Gyno-Pevaryl inside the cell is achieved, which eventually damages the membrane and causes cell necrosis. The effectiveness of econazole in relation to dermatophytes and yeast-like fungi is very high - already on the 3rd day of application of the cream, death of fungi is observed.
Pharmacokinetics
The medicine penetrates the upper layer of the skin - the horn, and the nail plate. It is once in the stratum corneum, as well as in the dermis. The substance is fat-soluble, therefore, penetrates into the tissue quite easily.
- Less than 1% of the used dose is excreted by the intestines and kidneys.
- Carcinogenicity and mutagenicity of the drug were not evaluated.
