Overview
The duration of treatment is usually 7-10 days.
Treatment with ampicillin should be continued for at least 48-72 hours after the disappearance of clinical symptoms. For infections caused by hemolytic streptococci, treatment should be carried out for at least 10 days.
For i / m administration, 4 ml of sterile water for injection is added to the contents of a 1 g vial.
For iv administration, 10 ml of sterile water for injection is added to the contents of a 1 g vial. Duration of administration - 5-10 minutes.
For intermittent iv infusion (continuous infusion is not recommended) - the solution prepared as described above is immediately diluted with 100 ml of 0.9% sodium chloride solution or 5% glucose solution. Duration of infusion 30-60 minutes.
For children:
In patients on hemodialysis, ampicillin is administered after dialysis, and with prolonged arteriovenous hemodialysis, after 6-12 hours. In patients on chronic chronic outpatient dialysis, 250 mg after 12 hours.

Side effects
- From the side of the central nervous system:
headache, dizziness, sometimes convulsions (with very fast intravenous administration) or in patients with renal failure with the introduction of high doses.
- From the digestive system:
nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, glossitis, stomatitis, pseudomembranous colitis, intestinal dysbiosis, increased Bovaclox of hepatic transaminases.
- From the hemopoietic system: anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis.
- Allergic reactions:
